#39: How To Write Whilst Being Hung Upside Down In A Dungeon

The first thing you need to understand
is that I am hanging upside down in a dungeon.
I know Barthes' Death of the Author and all that,
but still, it informs my work
in several important ways.

The current piece I'm working on
is called 'HELP'. It's the word 'help'
written in excrement on the stone wall.
It is very damp down here - at night
the wall runs with moisture
and washes my work away. I am
making a statement about impermanence,
I suppose, or trying
to get help. I guess
it's not for me to say.
